Sum MRR by Plan

I need to sum 'Monthly Recurring Revenue' where Plan is 'Pro' and Billing is 'Yearly'.

formula.xlsx
=SUMIFS(D2:D7, B2:B7, "Pro", C2:C7, "Yearly")

How it works: The SUMIFS function is designed to sum values in a range that meet multiple criteria. You first specify the range to sum (D2:D7 for MRR). Then, you provide pairs of criteria ranges and their corresponding criteria. Here, it checks if the 'Plan' (B2:B7) is "Pro" AND if the 'Billing' (C2:C7) is "Yearly", summing only the MRR values that satisfy both conditions simultaneously.

Data Setup

Customer Plan Billing Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR)
Alpha Basic Monthly 100
Beta Pro Yearly 500
Gamma Pro Monthly 400
Delta Basic Yearly 200
Epsilon Pro Yearly 600
Zeta Pro Monthly 350

Step-by-Step Guide

1

Identify the column containing the values you want to sum. In this case, 'Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR)' is in column D.

2

Identify the first criteria range, which is the 'Plan' column (column B).

3

Specify the first criteria, which is the text "Pro". Remember to enclose text in double quotes.

4

Identify the second criteria range, which is the 'Billing' column (column C).

5

Specify the second criteria, which is the text "Yearly".

6

Combine these into the SUMIFS function: `=SUMIFS(sum_range, criteria_range1, criteria1, criteria_range2, criteria2)`.
