CONCATENATE / Logistics Coord

Create Tracking URL

I need to combine the 'Carrier URL' and 'Tracking Number' to create a clickable link.

formula.xlsx
=CONCATENATE(A2,B2)

How it works: The CONCATENATE function joins two or more text strings into one. In this scenario, it efficiently merges the static part of the carrier's tracking URL (e.g., 'https://www.ups.com/track?tracknum=') with the dynamic tracking number, creating a complete, clickable link. This saves time by eliminating manual URL construction for each package and streamlines the tracking process.

Data Setup

Carrier URL Tracking Number
https://www.ups.com/track?loc=en_US&tracknum= 1Z999AA10123456784
https://www.fedex.com/fedex-tracking/?tracknumbers= 789012345678
https://www.dhl.com/track?trackingNumber= JD000123456789012345

Step-by-Step Guide

1

Identify the column containing the base Carrier URL (e.g., Column A).

2

Identify the column containing the Tracking Number (e.g., Column B).

3

In a new column (e.g., Column C), enter the formula `=CONCATENATE(A2,B2)` for the first row of data (assuming headers are in row 1 and data starts in row 2).

4

Press Enter to see the combined tracking URL.

5

Drag the fill handle (the small square at the bottom-right of the cell) down to apply the formula to all relevant rows.
